The Food Experience
Did you know that eating with bare hands is part of most African customs? When I walked into the restaurant and saw that everyone was eating with their bare hands, I decided to live the experience to the fullest and to also eat with my bare hands. And let me tell you! That was one of the most liberating and spiritual experiences ever. "Magically", we became so connected, to the point that before we knew it, we were all eating from each other's plate, trying every single dish on the table.
And the food was so good that I don't have words to describe it. I can still feel the taste of the fried fish, the collard breens and that spicy red sauce that I ordered, and I am counting days to our next Sunday gathering at Rafiki Loundge.
